Word order

Affirmative sentence

The most common order of a single sentence in French is: subject + verb + object. The subject is then at the beginning of the sentence, the verb comes second.

subject pronouns predicate other parts of the sentence
Pierre   achète une voiture.
Je le vois.
Nous   avons travaillé.
Je me lave.
Il s' est lavé.
